After four years in development, Deviant formulated a first of its kind.
The Retinal Clarity Serum is a multi-action treatment that works to clarify and rejuvenate the skin, helping to reduce breakouts, smooth uneven skin texture, and minimise the appearance of dark marks, fine lines and wrinkles. Powered by encapsulated Retinaldehyde (0.05%), a powerful vitamin A derivative (that works 10x faster than Retinol!), this lightweight fluid serum supports skin renewal, helping to smooth
texture, refine pores, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Time-released Salicylic Acid (BHA) works to deeply exfoliate and unclog pores for a visibly clearer complexion. Deviant’s unique time-release technology ensures prolonged action against congestion and breakouts while minimizing the risk of dryness or sensitivity.
Enriched with patented actives Polylysine and Diglucosyl Gallic Acid, the formula helps to
rebalance the skin’s microbiome whilst Niacinamide and Hexylresorcinol - two powerhouse brightening ingredients - work synergistically to fade post-blemish marks, even skin tone, and restore radiance.
Designed for those seeking a high-performance solution to both blemishes and the signs of aging, the Retinal Clarity Serum delivers targeted results without the need for 6 different steps in your skincare routine.
KEY INGREDIENTS
0.05% Encapsulated Retinal
A fast-acting powerful Vitamin A derivative that supports skin renewal, improves clarity, and helps reduce the appearance of blemishes, fine lines, wrinkles and uneven texture. The patented encapsulation system ensures unmatched retinal potency and effectiveness until the very last drop.
1% Time-Release Salicylic Acid
A Beta-Hydroxy Acid (BHA) that deeply exfoliates and unclogs pores, helping to reduce
breakouts, refine skin texture and control excess oil. Innovative encapsulation technology
ensures 1% salicylic acid is gradually delivered into your skin for comfortable daily use - even on sensitive complexions.
Diglucosyl Gallic Acid
This novel molecule is created using biotechnology. It’s activated by the skin’s microbiome and has sixty times more brightening power than Kojic Acid as well as boasting skin-soothing and antioxidant benefits too.
the faqs
the faqs
The Retinal Clarity Serum can be used nightly, but we recommend building up tolerance to the serum first. For first-time retinoid users, we’d recommend starting out using the serum x2 a week. For more experienced users of Vitamin A / Retinal, we’d recommend starting out every other night, before upgrading to nightly use, if tolerated.
Can I use the Retinal Clarity Serum when I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Retinoids, including retinaldehyde, are not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. We advise consulting your doctor before introducing any new skincare products during this time.
Can I use the Retinal Clarity Serum around the eyes?
We do not recommend applying the Retinal Clarity Serum around the eye area as it is very delicate in nature and the serum includes an exfoliating active (Salicylic Acid) which should not be used around the eyes.
Do I need to use a moisturizer after applying the Retinal Clarity Serum?
We recommend applying a moisturizer or a facial oil after the Retinal Clarity Serum to nourish and to help increase your skin’s tolerance to Retinal. If you have sensitive skin or are a new user to retinoids, we’d recommend applying your moisturizer first, allowing it to sink in before applying the Retinal Clarity Serum. This will help buffer the potent ingredients and reduce the irritation potential that can occur when introducing Vitamin A into your routine for the first time.
Can I use the Retinal Clarity Serum even if I don’t have blemishes?
Yes! Retinaldehyde (or Vitamin A) is not just used to target blemishes - it is clinically proven to effectively target the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin texture and loss of firmness.
Why is the Retinal Clarity Serum so yellow?
The Retinal Clarity Serum has a bright yellow hue due to the high concentration of Retinaldehyde. Based on our experience, it dissipates and does not leave a yellow tint on the skin. If you still experience a slight residual tint, you can minimize it by leaving time for the product to fully absorb and also by using a moisturizer on top.
